Mineral Collecting at Sterling Hill Mine

Description: Collecting is allowed on the Mine Run Dump and in the Passaic Pit and the  saddle area.  This event is open to the public. Wear  study footwear, a strong hammer, (carpenter claw hammers are not allowed),  and eye protection. Fee: $5.00 admission and $1.50 per pound of  mineral taken. Fee does not include the mine tour.
Age Requirement: Must be at least 7:00 year old for  Mine Run dump and 13 and up elsewhere.

The heritage festival celebrates the Nordic regions: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden. Food, crafts, authentic gifts, entertainment, dancing, folk dress, vikings, kids’ events, and re-enactors. This year’s featured guests are Telge Glima, Swedish wrestlers who practice and show old sports and games.

M.A.R.C.H and the Walpack Historical Society are hosting events this weekend. There are also two request for vendors and volunteers.
